[ Admittedly, Kale is giving her a lot to consider. She needs to think about a job more seriously, and she knows it, because she and the others won't be so well sustained off of odd, unreliable work. Then again, the Guardians are used to scraping by, since they spend money so badly.
Good job, guys.
But this trip is apparently worth it, because there's not one, not two, but four bulbs. 400 silver is nothing to scoff at, so Gamora looks genuinely impressed. ]
Looks like coming along with you was the right plan.
[She's also pleased by the outcome. Oh, good. That will do a lot as far as covering rent. Paying rent isn't easy when she's covering it in two places, but fortunately, both are split between her and a roommate.]
Um...if you don't mind me asking, what planet are you from? I'm from Planet Sadala. I've met a few people here and there who aren't from Earth like Mantis and Garrus, but it seems like the majority are from there and a lot of them haven't even heard of space travel.
[She notes the 'was', and decides the most tactful thing to do is just nod in acknowledgement and move on. She has no idea if the was is because Gamora was exiled, if she had to leave for personal reasons, if the planet was destroyed, or what other bad thing happened, but most others she's met have referred to where they're from in the present tense, not the past tense. It's probably safe to assume something awful happened.]
There's also a lot more universes than I'd ever imagined. I knew about twelve of them, and I was in a tournament with warriors from eight other universes. But this...it's amazing that the Natha have the technology and power to reach so many others.
[ A small hum of acknowledgement, nodding along in understanding. ]
I see. I never encountered other universes before coming here, but I realize that doesn’t mean they didn’t exist. How was it yours was able to bridge them together already?
Well...each universe has a god of destruction, a Kai who is more like a god of creation and peace, and an angel attendant who helps keep the balance and all of them report back to a head angel and these two beings called the Zeno.
[It probably sounds super weird and she's a bit self conscious of that, but Gamora seems like she's had an adventurous enough life that this might not sound completely absurd.]
People can't easily cross between universes. A lot of people don't know there's more than one. I only got to find out when I got recruited for the tournament.
kale.

I’ve noticed that. My planet was Zehoberei, years ago.
[ “Was” being the keyword here. ]
But yes, there seem to be more humans here than otherwise, and rarely others of the same species.
